The team at a Middleton on the Wolds business are celebrating after reaching the final of a regional business awards programme.
Soanes Poultry has been shortlisted in the Sustainability category at the 21st Yorkshire Post Business Awards, which recognise and reward local businesses and the vital role they play in the economic success of Yorkshire.
Soanes Poultry’s MD, Ben Lee, said: “We have invested significantly in pursuit of our goal to produce sustainable chicken so it’s very rewarding that the judges have acknowledged our initiatives with a place in the final.”
The team face competition from Aegis Energy, Bridlington Animal Park, Ltt Group Limited and Sandal Group. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and gala dinner for over 350 people in Leeds on 11th November.
Soanes Poultry is a family-owned business that has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It employs over 180 people and sells its chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
