Ten hours of funk and soul, seven local DJs and one simple request: bring a tin to get you in.

Hull-based funk and soul collective HuFunk is taking over Soul 45 on Newland Avenue on Saturday 17th October for Giving Up Food for Funk, an all-day vinyl session raising food for people in need across the city.
Instead of buying a ticket, everyone coming through the door is being asked to bring at least one tin of food. More are very welcome.
The donations will go to Ladled With Love, the Hull-based volunteer street kitchen supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
The event runs from 2pm until midnight, with ten hours of funk, soul and related sounds played entirely on vinyl by Andy Clark, Beat Robinson, Chris Charlton, Jonny Debt, Mak, Shepdog and Stevie Wonders.
HuFunk organiser Pete Robinson describes the collective as a group of Hull-based funk and soul DJs, selectors and record collectors who are passionate about the music and “can’t get enough of that funky stuff”.
He said: “It’s a great opportunity for the deejays to play to an appreciative crowd of funkateers and, in turn, to fill the pantries of those who feed the hungry. Music connects people and communities.”
One tin gets you in, although the organisers are hoping people will arrive carrying considerably more than that. Any suitable tinned food will be gratefully received, with tinned hot dogs particularly welcome.
If enough food is donated, the organisers also hope to share some of it with other local organisations supporting people in need.
