Outstanding employees from businesses across the region have been named as finalists in the 2021 Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards.
Taking place on Friday 9 July, the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards recognise and celebrate talented individuals and teams who are making a real difference in their workplace and contributing to their employers’ success.
Finalists across 16 categories have been chosen from almost 100 entries by a carefully selected judging panel, who were looking for qualities including customer service excellence, commitment to achieving targets, great team spirit, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
After postponing the awards in 2020 due to COVID-19, this year’s awards ceremony will be a virtual event, filmed at Bridlington Spa and screened via an immersive online platform designed to recreate the anticipation and celebration of a live event.
Awards founder and entrepreneur, Jo Fleming, said: “I’d like to congratulate all the finalists on this well-deserved recognition – I’m delighted that the region’s businesses have once again been so enthusiastic in promoting the efforts and talents of their workforces.
“We received entries from businesses of all sizes and across all sectors, and among them were countless stories of individuals and teams committed to doing the very best for their customers and colleagues.
“The judges were particularly impressed by the number of entries in the Apprentice of the Year category. It’s clear that even throughout what has been a difficult year for many, employers are still dedicated to investing in their staff and supporting their learning and development.
“It was also inspiring to see examples of how businesses have risen to the challenge of the pandemic by diversifying their operations and to see many local firms supporting the community.
“I’m looking forward to celebrating with all the finalists and their colleagues at the online event in July.”
Finalists can be seen below. The Judges’ Recognition and Lifetime Achievement award winners, along with the overall winners, will be announced on the night.
