Help to leave a lasting legacy with Make A Will Fortnight

Registration is now open for Dove House Hospice’s Make a Will Fortnight, which is due to run from 9 – 20 October 2023 and helps to raise vital funds for the hospice.

There are so many life events that may prompt you to make a will, from becoming a grandparent to buying a new home, getting married, or getting diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Whatever the reason, writing a will gives you the power to decide how your assets are dealt with after your death and is an invaluable tool to help protect your family’s future. Make a Will Fortnight makes making a will easy and gives that feel-good factor of knowing you are supporting hospice care in your local community.

Speaking about Make a Will Fortnight, Dove House Hospice Regional Fundraiser Coordinator, Jethro Shearring, said:

“Now entering its 12th year, Make a Will Fortnight is a crucial appeal in our fundraising calendar. The appeal helps our supporters to get ready for whatever the future may hold by writing a will, whilst helping to make such a special difference to our patients and their loved ones. We are incredibly grateful for all those who take part and leave a donation, along with those organisations that so kindly give the gift of their time in hosting appointments. Every pound raised through this year’s appeal is only made possible due to such organisations, and we are delighted to have representation in Hull, Beverley and Howden so far.

“At a time in which the hospice continues to face the challenges of the pandemic, as well as rising costs, appeals like this are more important than ever in ensuring that our specialist care can continue to be available to those who need it most.”
