Hull homelessness charity appealing for new volunteers

Homelessness charity Emmaus Hull & East Riding has used Volunteers’ Week 2024 (3-10 June) to appeal for new volunteers to get involved.

Emmaus Hull & East Riding provides a home, training, work opportunities and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness. In addition to their residential community in Hull, Emmaus also delivers an outreach service, providing direct support to people who are street homeless.

Emmaus is appealing for new volunteers to get involved either as charity trustees, within their Hull charity shops or in support of the East Riding outreach service. All Emmaus Hull & East Riding volunteers contribute to the charity’s mission of working together to overcome homelessness and social exclusion.

Stephanie Dixon, Director of Emmaus Hull & East Riding, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to our current volunteers and trustees for their unwavering support, dedication, and hard work. Their ongoing commitment to our cause has been instrumental in helping us achieve our mission of empowering those who are experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.

“To anyone looking to volunteer for a local charity, we have a range of rewarding volunteer roles suitable for people with different interests and abilities. Volunteering with Emmaus is a great way to use skills and experience for a worthwhile cause, get more active, meet new people and make a positive impact in the community.”
