The 77th Londesborough Annual Produce Show takes place in the Concert Hall in the village on Saturday 20 July.
Organised by a committee chaired by farmer Graeme Stephenson, the show boasts 99 classes open to residents of Market Weighton, Londesborough, Shiptonthorpe, Burnby, Nunburnholme, Hayton, Goodmanham, and Warter.
“It’s a popular show and an important event in the village calendar,” said Mr Stephenson. “We have classes for everything from fruit and veg through flowers, cookery and preserves to handicrafts and children’s classes. This year we are opening it up to people who live in Market Weighton, so we’re looking forward to receiving lots of entries.”
The fee for the adult classes is 50p per entry and 10p for the children’s classes. Entries should be at the Concert Hall by 11am, and members of the public are welcome to view them from 2pm. Entrance costs £1.50 and children are free. There will be a bring-and-buy stall, a raffle, and Rustik Lounge from Market Weighton will be serving refreshments.
The committee would like to extend its thanks to the cup sponsors: Leakes Butchers, Mouse House Floral Designs, Free Spirit Flowers, The Fiddle Drill, Wolds Inn, Coffee, Cake, Create, Wyngarth Graphics, three60 Marketing and PR, MW Farm Supplies, and EWB Construction.
