Pups in the Park returns for a second year

Following the success of last year’s debut event in Hessle, Pups in the Park is back for a second year – this time in a brand-new location.

The popular dog show, organised by local mental health charity Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, will take place on Sunday 17th August at 10:30am in East Park, Hull.

The event promises a fun-filled morning for families, dog lovers, and pups and pooches alike. Attendees can enjoy a lively dog show featuring a range of light-hearted classes, including Best in Show, Waggiest Tail, and Best Rescue, giving dogs of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds the chance to take the spotlight.

As well as the show ring, there will be pet-friendly stalls, food vendors, and entertainment for the whole family. With everything from grooming advice and dog accessories to face painting and refreshments, Pups in the Park offers something for everyone – furry or otherwise.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s vital mental health services across the region. The event is kindly sponsored by Ability UT and supported by a number of local organisations.

Marie-Louise Robinson, Community Fundraiser at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, said:

“It’s well known that having a dog, getting out and meeting people, and being in the fresh air all have a positive impact on our mental health. So, of course we decided to bring back our fun dog show, to bring people and their pooches together for a great day out.

“Pups in the Park was a fantastic success last year, and we’re excited to bring it to East Park this August. It’s a brilliant way to bring the community together, promote mental wellbeing, and celebrate the joy that dogs bring to our lives – all while raising funds for an important cause”
