Rollits brings leading resilience coach to Humber Business Week

We had a chat with Ed Jenneson, Head of Employment at Rollits, to find out more about the law firm’s high-profile event that takes place during Humber Business Week 2022.

Josh Connolly

“We’re very excited to bring Josh Connolly to Humber Business Week,” said Ed. “We invited him to visit Rollits earlier this year to deliver a talk about resilience, which left us all thinking differently about what being resilient really means.

“Josh offered a new perspective and unique insight. People think of resilience as continuing no matter what, although each situation is different and at times, another approach is sometimes required.”

The team at Rollits enjoyed Josh Connolly’s talk so much that the law firm has organised a free event at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday 7 June from 11am to 2pm. Josh’s talk will focus on boosting resilience within your workplace and in the wider context of normal life.

Josh Connolly is one of the UK’s most influential mental health advocates. He regularly speaks on BBC, ITV and Channel 5 News and has also spoken in the House of Commons. His career has seen him contribute to mental health policies and even advised the Hollyoaks scriptwriting team.

“I won’t give too much away,” said Ed, “but Josh has been through hard times and uses his experiences to help others. In this event he will share tips on how he motivates himself and remains resilient, as well as answering questions about health and wellbeing at work. When he spoke to our people, you could hear a pin drop whilst he was delivering his talk – he really is a very high calibre speaker and truly an inspiring individual.”

Ed will also be speaking at the event and sharing advice about the impact of hidden disabilities with a focus on neurodiversity, providing guidance in respect of equality and adjustments. With over twenty years of experience in Employment Law, Ed has been recognised as a leader in his field over the last decade and is passionate about supporting businesses with challenging legal issues.

Ed Jenneson

“I’ll discuss the impact that sickness absence and performance issues can have on an organisation and steps that employers can take to mitigate against potential discrimination claims. It’s crucial that businesses understand their obligations and act in a responsible and compassionate way, which benefits employer and employees alike.”

Tickets for the event are selling very quickly thanks to its subject matter being useful for HR professionals, business leaders and anyone who wants to explore how to ensure equality in the workplace. If you’d like to attend, make sure to book your free tickets here as soon as possible.
