The market in Beverley dates to the Middle Ages and remains one of the major events both for locals and visitors. Saturday is the major market day, where traders travel from across the map to sell everything from fresh fruit to arts and crafts. Beverley Minster

The Gothic Beverley Minster is a striking cathedral that was first formed in the 1100s. This captivating structure remains an important place of worship for many, however visitors of all faiths are welcome to take a tour.

You might want to explore the minster. There are stone carvings of medieval musicians dotted around the building, while the tomb of St John of Beverley is also here. He died in 721 and was made a saint in 1037 for his gift of healing the sick. Alternatively, you may decide to attend a recital, exhibition, or concert here.

Dumble Farm

Spend a day at the farm while you’re in town. Known for its Highland cows, Dumble Farm is also home to alpacas and goats, and it’s possible to book hands-on experiences if you contact the farm ahead of your visit.

You’ll also find some treats at the farm shop. There’s an eclectic selection of accessories, homeware, art and toys here, so you can choose a memento that will remind you of your Beverley trip.

Beverley Racecourse

Racing season is a popular tie for the town, with fans of the sport keen to attend the major fixtures in the calendar at Beverley Racecourse. If you love dressing to impress and fancy a flutter, there are plenty of opportunities to back your favourites and enjoy racing talent.
