Rural broadband provider Quickline Communications is celebrating hitting a string of notable milestones throughout 2023 – while pressing ahead with plans for a fast start to the new year.
East Yorkshire-based Quickline continues to light up communities in remote and very hard to reach locations across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, passing 65,000 premises with gigabit-capable full fibre.
Quickline is rolling out its gigabit-capable full fibre network to rural communities stretching from North Yorkshire, across to West Yorkshire and down into South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Places recently connected include Barlby and Hebden in North Yorkshire.
Build teams are now working in Riccall, near Selby, North Yorkshire, to bring connectivity to the village. Work will begin soon in Settle, North Yorkshire, and Quickline is also building in South Yorkshire for the first time, taking full fibre to the village of Finningley, near Doncaster.
Quickline has built a robust and diverse supply chain, combining its own Internal Build Team with reputable build partners, creating a capacity to connect 110,000 premises annually.
In addition to building its full fibre network, 60 new mast sites have gone live since January, providing even more homes and businesses with connection to fast and reliable broadband via Quickline’s 5G fixed wireless broadband technology.
Sean Royce, CEO of Quickline, said: “It’s been an incredibly successful year with some important milestones in our ongoing mission to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas.
“We’ve scaled up our business with purpose and expanded our teams to further improve our ability to build and grow our networks, so we can continue to provide fast and reliable broadband to rural communities that would otherwise be left behind.
“We’ve invested in the very best technology to deploy an XGS-PON gigabit-capable full fibre network and have plans to introduce 2.5 Gbps in the new year.
“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved as a company and we’re excited for what the future holds.”
Julian Chalk, Head of Enablement and Engagement at Quickline, said: “We’re proud to have connected many very hard to reach communities over the course of 2023.
“As we head into a new year, we’ll be announcing many more communities where we’ll be taking our full fibre broadband, giving homes and businesses the opportunity to enjoy significantly improved internet speeds.”
Dale Storrie lives in Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire, and switched to Quickline in November. He said: “I need a fast and reliable internet connection because I work in IT and do a lot of remote work.
“Quickline have made it possible for me to have an office at home where I can work comfortably and without any interruptions to my internet.”
